Assumed background of participants:

The school is generally targeted to PhD and master’s students and postdocs, but we will also welcome other participants, including those from the industry and the governmental sectors.

We require solid backgrounds in undergraduate mathematics (primarily algebra, linear algebra, and probability theory), theoretical computer science (especially complexity theory), and cryptography. We do not assume prior knowledge of quantum physics, quantum computing, and post-quantum cryptography.

School’s content:

The school will cover the main areas of this field:

1. Standard post-quantum algorithms.

2. Cryptography and quantum information.

The objective of this school is to survey recent developments in the areas mentioned above. As a result, the participants will be equipped with the most current knowledge of post-quantum cryptography. This will include both the post-quantum technology that is ready to be widely deployed in real life and more academic topics, such as fully homomorphic encryption and research on combining quantum information with (post-quantum) computational assumptions.

Organizers: Stefan Dziembowski, Giulio Malavolta, and Alon Rosen

The currency in Poland is Polish Złoty (zł or PLN). The approximate exchange rate is PLN 4,50 per Euro 1.

TRANSPORT & TICKETS:

You can travel around the city by bus, tram, and metro. There are bus stops and a metro station close to the School venue. Tickets can be bought in vending machines or via an app the municipality offers (in buses or trams, at bus stops or metro stations).

Apart from one-trip tickets, there are also short-term (20- and 40-minute) tickets. 1-day or 3-day tickets are the most cost-effective option as they entitle to an unlimited number of journeys for 24 or 72 hours, respectively, from its validation.

For further trips, we recommend using taxis. The cost of a taxi from Warsaw airport to the city center is approximately PLN 50. There is a possibility to pay by card in most taxi companies.

Transportation connections can be easily checked using such applications as Google Maps.

From the airport

The airport (Port Lotniczy im. Fryderyka Chopina, often called Okecie) is not far from the center (about 30 minutes by bus). Line 175 is a direct connection between the airport and the school venue. You can check the schedule here.
