We are a research and development center operating in the field of artificial intelligence, whose mission is to support the development of these technologies in Poland by creating a platform connecting the academic and business environments.

IDEAS NCBR sp. z o. o. is a research and development center operating in the field of artificial intelligence, whose mission is to support the development of these technologies in Poland by creating a platform connecting the academic and business communities.
Our goal is to build the largest platform in Poland facilitating innovative research, as well as educating a new generation of scientists focused on the practical application of developed algorithms and their subsequent commercialization in industry, finance, medicine and other branches of the economy.

VISIONWe want to create the largest center of innovative research in the field of artificial intelligence in Poland, which will be a platform connecting the business and academic environments, as well as a place to educate the best specialists in the field of AI. We want the algorithms and technological solutions we develop to find practical application in industry, finance, medicine and other branches of the economy and have a positive impact on society.

Management Board
Piotr Sankowski is a professor at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Warsaw, where he received his habilitation in 2009 and his PhD in computer science in 2005. His research interests focus on the problems of practical use of algorithms, starting from economic applications, through learning data structures, to parallel algorithms for data science. In 2009, Piotr Sankowski also received a doctorate in physics in the field of solid state theory from the Polish Academy of Sciences.
He is the first Pole to receive four grants from the European Research Council (ERC): ERC Starting Independent Researcher Grant (2010), ERC Proof of Concept Grant (2015, 2023), ERC Consolidator Grant (2017). He is also the co-founder of the MIM Solutions spin-off.
Wojciech Kruszyński is a graduate of the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology and the National School of Public Administration.
He held positions on supervisory boards and management boards of capital companies, including Winiary S.A., Rafineria Trzebinia S.A., Tetra System Polska S.A. For many years he was associated with the telecommunications sector, including Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. He was the president of the management board of Arcus S.A., Telprojekt Sp. z o.o. and Hyperion S.A.
Grażyna Żebrowska is a graduate of applied physics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the University of Gdańsk. She obtained her doctorate in the application of physical sciences in medicine at the University of Rennes in France and at the University of Gdańsk. In the years 2003-2019, she worked as an advisor for science, technology and higher education at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, USA. She was responsible for initiating and organizing cooperation between Polish and American scientific and academic institutions.
She was also involved in promoting Polish universities and research units in the United States. From 2019, she headed the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. In the years 2020-2022, she served as the Director General of the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
Scientific Council
The Scientific Council was established by a resolution of the Shareholders’ Meeting of IDEAS NCBR Sp. z o.o. of 1 July 2021.
Its tasks include:
- Giving opinions on research policy and activities planned for implementation and presenting proposals for changes, e.g. due to progress in scientific research around the world,
- Giving opinions on the employment of research group leaders,
- Giving opinions on the level of implementation and results of research groups’ activities,
- Expressing opinions on the activities of IDEAS NCBR.
