Marcin Osial is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences at the Jagiellonian University and at the IDEAS NCBR research center. His work focuses on model merging, an interesting field in artificial intelligence that involves reusing existing, trained models.
Instead of building costly AI systems from scratch, his research concentrates on intelligently combining their weights to create new, specialized models with unique capabilities.
Currently, Marcin is developing algorithms that enable the effective transfer of knowledge from multiple diverse tasks to be applied to entirely new problems.
He spends his free time listening to podcasts, playing board games, and working 🙂
