The Supervisory Board elected the president of IDEAS NCBR

On July 19, 2024, the Supervisory Board announced the qualification procedure for the position of President of IDEAS NCBR sp. z o.o. Two candidates applied for this position: PhD, DSc, Eng Grzegorz Borowik and PhD, DSc, Piotr Sankowski. On September 25, the Supervisory Board selected a new President of IDEAS NCBR sp. z o.o. This is PhD, DSc, Eng Grzegorz Borowik, Professor of the NASK National Research Institute, head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Applications in Cybersecurity at NASK. He will start working in his new position on October 1, 2024. Professor Borowik is also the Vice-Dean for Computer Science at the Helena Chodkowska University of Technology and Commerce in Warsaw (UTH). Upon taking up the position at IDEAS NCBR, he is resigning from UTH.

IDEAS NCBR employs top-class specialists who conduct research in numerous interdisciplinary areas. The company cooperates with international entities – it joined the Adra network and initiated ELLIS Unit Warsaw, promoting the development of research on artificial intelligence. It also has signed cooperation agreements with many prestigious research centers in Poland and abroad, which allows for the exchange of knowledge and conducting innovative research projects at a world level.

New president of IDEAS NCBR

Professor Grzegorz Borowik is a scientist and entrepreneur, habilitated doctor of engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of technical information technology and telecommunications, university lecturer, member of the Council for Innovation in Higher Education and Science.

He is a laureate of the “Top 500 Innovators” internship and training program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education implemented at the University of California at Berkeley and numerous scholarships and awards for scientific achievements. He carried out post-doctoral internships at the Knowledge Engineering and Discovery Research Institute in Auckland, New Zealand (research related to the practical application of third-generation artificial neural networks) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (research in the field of the Internet of Things and data analysis).

Professor Grzegorz Borowik is the author or co-author of over a hundred publications in scientific journals and conference materials, as well as the author of an academic textbook, a scientific editor, reviewer and chairman of conference sessions.

His research interests include computational intelligence, machine learning techniques, optimization techniques, image processing, the Internet of Things, cryptography and blockchain technology.
