From 9 to 13 September Krzysztof Stereńczak, leader of the Precision Forestry research team at IDEAS NCBR, took part in the ForestSAT 2024 conference in Rotorua, New Zealand – a gathering of more than 300 researchers from around the world, focused on forest spatial analysis technologies.

Krzysztof arrived in the New Zealand area known for geothermal springs, beautiful nature and “The Lord of the Rings” with two oral presentations:

  • Airborne Laser scanning application in Operational Forestry in Poland
  • Precision forestry – Current status of Practical Implementation and Research problems

‘I’m honored to represent IDEAS NCBR at ForestSAT 2024. This conference provides a unique opportunity to not only showcase the innovative work we are doing at Precision Forestry but also to engage with brilliant minds from various academic backgrounds,’ says Krzysztof.

‘Networking at such an event is a key factor in research. It offers an invaluable opportunity to learn from diverse applications of spatial technologies in forestry, allowing us to explore new methods for sustainable forest management and environmental conservation. I would also like to thank COST Action 3DForEcoTech for supporting this trip.”
